(© Joseph Marzullo/Retna) | Bette Midler will open a new show on February 20, 2008 at the Colosseum at Caesars Place and will play the famed hotel for at least two years.
The show, according to entertainment promoter AEG Live, will be the star's "biggest, most imaginative production, with plenty of girls, gags, and guffaws, her incomparable humor, the best song catalogue in American music, and her fabulous 'Kiss My Brass' section."
Midler has been one of the world's foremost entertainers for over 35 years. She made her Broadway debut in the original company of Fiddler on the Roof. In 1974, she received a special Tony Award in conjunction with her Clams on the Half Shell Revue. She last appeared on Broadway as part of the one-night program, Short Talks on the Universe.
She received Oscar nominations for her work in the films The Rose and For the Boys. Her many film credits include Beaches, The First Wives Club, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, and The Stepford Wives. In addition, she played Mama Rose in the CBS television version of Gypsy.
