The new national tour of Jonathan Larson's award-winning musical Rent, starring original Broadway cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, has announced its preliminary schedule, beginning with a launch at Cleveland's Playhouse Square, January 6-11. The tour will continue through August 2009, stopping in over 20 cities.

Other major stops include Philadelphia's Academy of Music (February 3-6); Los Angeles' Pantages Theatre (March 3-6); San Diego's Civic Center (March 10-15); Chicago's Ford Center for the Performing Arts (March 31-April 12); Houston's Hobby Center (April 28-May 3); Seattle's Paramount Theatre (June 16-21); and Boston's Shubert Theatre (July 14-26).

Pascal originated the role of singer-songwriter Roger, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor; Rapp created the role of documentary filmmaker Mark. Both actors played these parts in the show's original Off-Broadway production at New York Theatre Workshop and recreated them for the film version of the musical. The duo returned to Rent on Broadway for a limited engagement in the summer of 2007.
