B.B. King, James Galway, and Liza Minnelli will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame during the Bowl's 2008 Opening Night Concert, to be held at 8:30pm on Friday, June 20, which will benefit MusicMatters, the L.A. Philharmonic's music education programs.
In addition to performances by the inductees, there will be a special performance by rock n' roll pioneer Duane Eddy and a spectacular All-Star Rock and Roll Fireworks Finale. The L.A. Philharmonic will be conducted by Thomas Wilkins.
Minnelli won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for Flora the Red Menace and The Act, and won a special Tony Award in 1974. She was also nominated for The Rink and has starred on Broadway in Victor/Victoria and Chicago. She won the Academy Award for Cabaret and the Emmy Award for Liza With a "Z".
