Drag diva Joey Arias and puppeteer Basil Twist will present Arias with a Twist, the first production at the all-new fully renovated HERE Arts Center, June 12-July 13, with an official opening on June 18.

In this intimate modern fantasy, Twist's signature sights and innovative puppetry unite with Arias' legendary voice to transport audiences to unpredictable worlds, channeling ecstatic desires, lavish nightmares and bizarre premonitions. The show marks the 10th anniversary of the Dream Music Puppetry Program and the Dorothy B. Williams Theatre at HERE Arts Center.

Arias returns to New York following a six-year run in Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity in Las Vegas as the emcee "Mistress of Seduction". His film credits include Mondo New York, Big Top Pee Wee, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, Wigstock - The Movie, Flawless and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.

Twist is a third generation puppeteer whose original creations include The Araneidae Show, Symphonie Fantastique, Petrushka, Master Peter's Puppet Show, Dogugaeshi, and La Bella Dormente nel Bosco. His work has been recognized with an OBIE Award, three UNIMA Awards for Excellence in Puppetry, two Bessie Awards, a New York Innovative Theatre Award, and an American Theatre Wing/Henry Hewes Design Award.

Arias with a Twist features wardrobe by Thierry Mughler, musical arrangements and production by Eliot Douglas and Jean-Francois Houle, sound design by Greg Duffin, lighting design by Andrew Hill, video design by Daniel Brodie, and original songs by Alex Gifford of "The Propeller Heads."
