The conference, which is sponsored by the Eugene O'Neill foundation in partnership with the National Park Service, will include 10 panel discussions on O'Neill's work, along with performances of O'Neill: The Genius in His Soul, which intertwines his poetry with songs from his plays, and a dramatic interpretation of his short story Tomorrow by the Word for Word Performing Arts Company. Professors Stephen Black and Jackson Bryer will also be honored at the conference.
A noted playwright, author, and scholar, Brustein is also the founding director of both the Yale Repertory and American Repertory Theatres, where he supervised over 200 productions.
