Danny Glover to Star in Film Version of Master Harold

Danny Glover will star as Sam in a big-screen adaptation of Athol Fugard's Master Harold... and the Boys, according to Variety.

Glover played Sam in the show's 2003 Broadway revival and the younger servant Willie in the 1982 Broadway production. Lonny Price, who directed Glover in 2003 and played the original Harold, will direct the film, which will also star Thomas Sangster in the title role.

Glover is primarily known for his film and television work, including Places in the Heart, Boesman & Lena, Lethal Weapon, and Brothers & Sisters. Price's directorial credits include 110 in the Shade, A Class Act, Urban Cowboy, and the concert stagings of Passion, Candide, and Camelot.
