Broadway Across America has announced its upcoming 2008-2009 Boston Broadway season at The Colonial Theatre and The Opera House. The season will include six musical productions and two plays, including two world premiere pre-Broadway musicals which make their debut at The Colonial .
The season will open with A Chorus Line, September 11-October 5 at the Opera House with 17 dancers and the audition of a lifetime. As previously announced, Brigadoon will follow, October 14-November 9, the world premiere production of the musical with a revised book at The Colonial Theatre. Legally Blonde The Musical, October 28-November 9, will fill The Opera House with sorority star Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn't take "no" for an answer.
The season will continue with Harry Connick Jr. starring in Nice Work If You Can Get It, December 16-January 11, a world premiere musical with a book by Joe DiPietro. Rounding out the season are Frost/Nixon starring Stacy Keach at The Colonial Theatre, January 27-February 8, Dirty Dancing at The Opera House, February 7-March 15; A Bronx Tale starring Chazz Palminteri at The Colonial Theatre, March 31-April 11, and Spring Awakening at The Colonial Theatre, April 28-May 24.
