Synopsis

T. Schreiber Studio presents the US Premiere of Shauna Kanter's The Gift. Based on a true story, the production is a haunting music theatre piece that travels back and forth between 1939 and 1965. An ensemble, stylized voice-and-movement piece, The Gift utilizes floor-to-ceiling archival footage and live original music to tell the story a young American whose courage and cowardice are revealed as he attempts to rescue a single Jewish family out of Nazi Germany. The play premiered in England at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre in 1995 under the title Legacy, and has since, been successfully performed in London, Germany, France and is now premiering in the US.

Playwright Kanter also directs the show, which features Dane Anton Aska, Lee M. Buckman, Selena Cantor, Chris Carlone, Steve Coombs, Alix Dale, Laura K. Danilov ,Sabrina Dvorski, Lisa Flavin, Laura Gaspari, Irene Glezos, Liat Glick, Ie Alix Grossman, Diana Hird, Aimee Howard, Shane Jacobsen, Jesse Rider, Allyson Ryan, Gina Samardge, Sean Souza, Arley Tapirian and Tony Tenoglia.
