Shakespeare's Twelfth Night is a unique production that takes place in the late 1950s-early 1960s on the northeastern seacoast of Italy. Illyria is a broken-down palace, an erstwhile tourist town that has not seen a fresh face or inspired new love for quite some time. Olivia, the owner of the town's main resort, has grown tired of snubbing the suffering Orsino, who has loved her for 25 years. Her resort manager Maria can't keep her man Toby from cavorting with the Eurotrash Sir Aguecheeck. And Malvolio can't escape the constant teasing and mockery. When the vivacious Viola is shipwrecked on the Illyrian shore, she turns the town upside down.
