Love hurts. Inspired by Sartre's "Les Jeux Sont Faits" and set in a
preternatural ballroom in Purgatory, Love (American Style) is a physical theatre production that blends intimacy, absurdity and longing for love and salvation into a visual, ambisexual love sonnet. Strange rituals and rich theatricality combine to explore the extremes of love, desperation & ecstasy. Alternately romantic and sleazy, bewitching and quotidian, relationships and isolation are dissected through gesture, images and song from polkas to waltzes to icky pop ballads.
