The Gallery Players present Merrily We Roll Along, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by George Furth. Directed by J.V. Mercanti.
It is 1980, and celebrated songwriter and film producer Franklin Shepard returns to his high school, scornful of his youthful ideals. We journey back through his carefree days - when friends were inseparable, love was forever, and life was bursting with dreams. Sondheim's shows often work best in intimate theatres, where the score's musical intricacy is transparent and every clever and touching lyric is audible, making The Gallery Players an ideal venue for Merrily We Roll Along.
