Synopsis

The Gallery Players, Brooklyn's premiere Off-Off Broadway theater, continues its 38th eclectic season of plays and musicals with the heartwarming musical The Spitfire Grill, book by Fred Alley and James Valcq, lyrics by Fred Alley, music by James Valcq. Based on the 1996 film of the same name starring Ellen Burstyn, The Spitfire Grill played at Playwright's Horizons in the fall of 2001 and went on to win the Richard Rodgers Production Award that year and was nominated for "Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical" by the New York Outer Critics Circle.

When Percy, a young woman with a troubled past, comes to Gilead, Wisconsin, to start a new life for herself, she discovers that she isn't the only one in Gilead haunted by the past. As she gains the trust of Hannah, who owns the local eatery, the Spitfire Grill, Percy brings new life to the town itself and to its residents.
