Collaborative dance piece Flight is woven from the images and concepts that arose from rich discussions and improvisations exploring the various interpretations of the word flight.
Theater Performance Workshop
Friday and Saturday May 20-21, 8:00pm
This year, director Jose Joaquin Garcia used the poetry of Carl Sandburg, Walt Whitman, Langston Hughes, and Robert Creely as a spring board for voice work. This year end performance will incoporate the breadth of theater they have been exploring within the theme of conflict resolution.
Dance Performance Workshop III
Friday and Saturday June 3-4
Will present original works by student choreographers as well as a new work, Wind, by guest choreographer Mollie O'Brien. Wind creates a lush emotional and physical landscape through O'Brien's rich and diverse movement language. Students will also perform Some of My Best Friends are Dancers.
Exploring the more theatrical side of the group, this hilarious work examines personal shortcomings and pokes fun at our desire to focus on inadequacies over triumphs.
