Walking the Dead finds 6 people coming together for a memorial service for Veronica, a lesbian who has a sex-change operation to become Homer (Veronica and Homer are seen only in flashback and played by the same actress). Gathering together by Veronica's girlfriend are Veronica's mother, her best friend and his ex-, her therapist, and a sensationalist filmmaker. Skillfully written, recognizably funny, yet deeply serious, this show asks audiences to examine how they truly feel about stereotypes and the lengths to which they are willing to go to stay true to themselves.
