The Wilma Theater presents a Caryl Churchill Festival that explores this pioneering, sophisticated and surprising playwright's work across the decades of her career with two full productions, five free public readings, and a symposium.
From April 19th through May 28th, the Wilma celebrates the 25th anniversary of Cloud 9's U.S. premiere. From May 9th through June 4th, the Wilma presents Churchill's most recent play, A Number, which received its world premiere in London in 2002 and its U.S. premiere in New York in 2004.
Additionally, the theater presents five free public readings of other Churchill plays with discussions following each reading. All readings begin at 7:00pm and are on the Wilma Stage: Traps (April 24th), Light Shining in Buckinghamshire (May 1st), Top Girls (May 8th), Fen (May 15th), and Far Away (May 22nd). Seats are extremely limited for all free events and patrons should call the box office to RSVP at 215-546-7824.
