As part of the Wilma's Caryl Churchill Festival, the theater presents her most recent play, A Number, which received its world premiere in London in 2002 and its U.S. premiere in New York in 2004. A Number addresses quintessential questions of identity and the implications of human cloning in this two actor play, with one actor playing three roles. The Daily Telegraph wrote that Churchill "asks the most profound questions of all: what is it that makes us what we are, how responsible are we for our actions, and can we change the way we behave? Her answers ... strike as wise, humane and hopeful."
