Synopsis

Spend an unforgettable afternoon in the Abrons' Sculpture Garden with It's a Bee, Honey, a joyful musical puppet circus based on the real-life drama of honeybees. Featuring large-scale puppets, a giant tricycle, live original music, and a puppet theater made out of a real bee hive, It's a Bee, Honey explores a day in the life of bees and how they work, talk, mate, raise their young and die. With music composed by East Village legend Baby Dee and puppets designed by Erin Orr, the show also stars a chorus of children as the worker bees.

A special puppet-making workshop is offered in tandem with the performance to give children and their parents the experience of creating and performing with puppets. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, June 16 from 10am-2pm.

Sponsored by the Jim Henson Foundation.
