Synopsis

Choral Arts presents Gershwin, Mozart, and Lauridsen.

Step inside the Kennedy Center Concert Hall and be transported to Gershwin's Catfish Row as you experience a delightful concert version of Porgy and Bess featuring the popular favorites "Summertime," "It Ain't Necessarily So," and so much more.

Rediscover the magic of the jazz infused score with world-renowned soloists Janice Chandler Eteme and Alvy Powell along with a full 175-voice chorus and orchestra. Hear also Morten Lauridsen's stunning Lux Aeterna, one of America's greatest contemporary choral works, and a chamber choir performance of Mozart's rarely performed Mass in C Major.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Norman Scribner and Associate Conductor Joseph Holt, the Choral Arts Society will wow you with a full range of choral masterpieces for this invigorating afternoon performance.
