The Movie Music of Spike Lee Tickets and Information
Synopsis
Academy Award-nominated director Spike Lee hosts this electrifying multimedia event featuring live music from his most celebrated films, from Do the Right Thing, Jungle Fever, and Malcolm X to Mo' Better Blues and Inside Man. His longtime collaborator, Grammy-winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard, performs the scores and R&B hits with his quintet, a chamber orchestra, and special guest vocalists Kurt Elling and Raul Midón. Updated from its smash engagements in London, New York, Chicago, and L.A., the concert features photographs from the films, shot on location by Spike Lee's brother David Lee, as well as the D.C. premiere of music from When the Levees Broke, Spike Lee's acclaimed HBO documentary on Hurricane Katrina.
