The new late night Christmas comedy hit, Miracle on Mulberry Street, based on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is Written and Directed by John Pallotta And features the talented actors of Theatre33.
Ebenezer Scroogianno is a miserable middle aged mobster who believes that Christmas is just an excuse for people to miss work and for idle people to expect handouts. He doesn't believe in all of the good cheer and charity that the season promotes, and he makes sure everyone knows it. One night, Scroogianno is visited by the ghost of his former business associate, Jacob Marlianni -- a man who was as greedy and cold as Scroogianno is. Marlianni warns Scroogianno that if he continues to live so selfishly, he will spend eternity wearing the chains and cement shoes that his greed has built. Three ghosts visit Scrooge successively: the Ghost of Christmas Past (Roxy Brown), the Ghost of Christmas Present (Young actor), and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (Biker Chick). They show Scroogianno his error in valuing organized crime and money over people. Scroogianno is frightened by the bleak picture of his life and promises to change his ways. Scroogianno awakes on Christmas morning a new man. He becomes jolly and charitable, and truly turns into the man he promised the ghosts he would become. He carries the spirit of Christmas with him all the year round. Playwright John Pallotta, a native of NYC, has been involved in theatre, film, and television for over 20 years. He has written over a dozen plays and two screenplays including How I Killed My Roommate (and Got Away with It), which had over a two year run in NYC. Jane Ho, that ran Off Broadway on Theatre Row. Beyond The Palisades, staring Emmy Award Winning Actress Jen Jiles, Vegas (which was read/workshopped at the Lambs Theatre and Steppenwolf in Chicago); Mulberry Street; When I Was Black; and Beyond the Palisades. And four new plays currently under development: Anything But Ordinary, Love Is A Verb, Things I Tell My Pillow and Seeking Palestine. He is the co-artistic director of two theatre companies (Theatre33 and Common Ground Works) and holds inexpensive acting / playwright workshops in NYC for the struggling actors/writers.

I only saw rehearsal the other day but I was impressed with how rehearsal went. my friend is playing one of the smaller parts. the play looks great so far from what I saw and looking forward to the opening on the 5th of December.
