Synopsis:
The extraordinary singer, guitarist, and percussionist Badi Assad showcases her exhilaratingly adventurous style, as part of the Joe's Pub Brazilian Guitars series in association with the New York Guitar Festival. The sister of Sergio and Odair, the famous classical guitarists "Duo Assad", Badi followed in her brothers' footsteps on the instrument, while exploring her own creative vision, winning Guitar Player magazine's 1995 Readers' Poll for Best Classical Album of the Year and was Best Acoustic Fingerstyle Player by the magazine's editors. As a singer, Badi is vibrant and electric, responding to her inner passions with deft creativity. As a guitarist, she has inspired audiences and critics worldwide with a unique combination of technical mastery and innovation that has caused many to re-examine their notions about the instrument. Well-known for her talents as an "instrumental juggler" of sorts, Assad performs further ambidextrous feats, creating a multitude of sounds simultaneously with voice, guitar, and various percussion instruments.
