Synopsis

Join 200 of National Dance Institute's Advanced Team dancers on a journey to Mexico. Volando á México tells the story of two Mexican-American children living in New York City who fly to Mexico for the first time. A mystical butterfly (mariposa) guides the children through cultural celebrations, Aztec sun rituals, Mayan creation myths, and the modern sights and sounds of Mexico. Volando á México is a joyous, colorful celebration of choreography and music reflecting traditional Mexican rhythms as well as contemporary Mexican and American choreography.
