Synopsis:
The Tony Award-winning Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam was a hit phenomenon on HBO for four seasons. Best described as a performance poetry event, it features eight poets who blend hip-hop -- poetry's musical cousin -- with the written and spoken word.
