Synopsis:
Set against the Russian Empire, the music follows dashing rogue Eugene Onegin who rejects the affections of young Tatiana. Years later, Onegin declares his devotion, but Tatiana is now a married socialite. NSO Music Director Leonard Slatkin leads baritone Sergei Leiferkus in the title role as well as Kirov Opera stars Irina Mataeva as Tatiana, Ekaterina Semenchuk as Olga, Daniil Shtoda as Lenski, and The Washington Chorus.
